Goum Silk Rug(3’ 4” x 5’ 1” )

Description

The size 3’ 4” x 5’ 1” silk Ghoum from Iran. This very finely woven and intricately designed carpet has a silk pile
and silk foundation. It is woven with over 600 knots per square inch and is
thinly clipped to show off the delicate pattern. The field and main border is
in a midnight navy blue. The guard borders are in ivory. Accent colors in the
rest of the carpet are various rose, pinks, greens, rust, browns and golds.
There is a nice three-dimensional effect with some of the design elements on
“top” of other elements. A good example of this is in the corners with the
curved leaves and along the sides with the vase patterns. This of course would
feel amazing under bare feet.
